Car Aesthetics with Joël Bouillon from Polyshine Innovation
This week on Currus Dreems, we are trying something different. Recently, we had the opportunity to dive into the world of innovative products and services offered right here in Quebec, Canada. A friend of the collection, Joël Bouillon from Polyshine Innovation, came to talk to us about how to take care of our precious cars. We met Joël through our involvement with Élégance Trois-Rivières. He specializes in the application of nano ceramic sealants on cars (and many other vehicles and surfaces) and was the first to bring this German technology to Canada! We were curious to know more about this service and figured you would be too so we invited Joël to appear on the blog to talk to us about nano ceramic and other ways to take care of our cars.
Before we delve into the exciting details, we want to be upfront with you – this is not a paid partnership or a sponsored advertisement. Our exploration and subsequent purchases were born out of genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for what Polyshine Innovation has to offer. Plus, you don’t need to purchase anything to benefit from Joël’s advice! Car collectors and everyday drivers can benefit from his tips and tricks! Keep reading to learn about what Joël has to say about a car’s general care, the benefits of using a nano ceramic sealant, how to protect metals like chrome grilles and how to treat your mags to prevent dirt buildup.

General Care
We often joke that the care for all the vehicles in the Demers Car Collection is a full-time job! Those of you who’ve come for a visit know that there is very little dust on our cars! Nevertheless, it is always good to stay aware of new techniques and products that become available that could simplify our preservation work. We asked Joël if he had any advice to share with collectors on what to do to keep their cars looking pristine. Here is what he had to share:
- Before applying a sealant, make sure to thoroughly clean the car.
- Make any repairs to chipped paint before applying a sealant.
- Use an entry-level product to protect cars that you aren’t going to use every day.
- Use quality products that will help prevent dust from settling on the different surfaces.
We followed up by asking what his general advice is for people who use their cars every day. Joël advised us on what to do to keep our everyday cars looking their best for as long as possible. Here is what he said:
- Wash your car every week.
- Decontaminate your car twice a year (spring and fall).
- Consider protecting your vehicle with a long-wear, professional product like the LiquidGlass-Protec Carbody X25 Xtrem High Gloss.
- Polish and make repairs to your car before applying a sealant, even if your car is new!
- Use quality products so that they help protect your car and not aggravate issues.
- In case of damage, your insurer should cover the restoration of the damaged part as well as the reinstatement of any additional treatment that you applied like nano ceramic sealants provided that you keep receipts of the service.

What is Nano Ceramic?
What is nano ceramic technology? It is an “ ingenious process developed in laboratory” which once applied to a surface, offers a protective coat made out of tiny (nano) particles of ceramic that protects the surface from wear and tear. This new process provides superior results to traditional waxing techniques by getting a shinier, glossier result. Polyshine Innovation’s website offers a list of 28 reasons why their nano-ceramic solution is the superior product on the market. To name but a few: it provides a better final result than traditional polishes and waxes, it repels water, it protects against various sources of damage, it is a durable solution and it makes cleaning your car easier! So, it is a great solution to protect the cars that we use every day.

Joël’s Demonstration on a 2005 Aston Martin Vanquish
Joël made the demonstration of the LiquidGlass-Protec Carbody X25 Xtrem High Gloss on our 2005 Aston Martin Vanquish. You can judge the results yourself in the video below! Quite impressive indeed.
To those who like to take care of their cars themselves, this is not a treatment that you can do at home. First, your car will need professional cleaning and polishing. Joël explained that this is done so that we are not protecting and sealing imperfections. On the Aston Martin, Joël used the LiquidGlass-Protec X2 first before proceeding with the nano ceramic sealant. Even a new car needs to be adequately prepared first before.
Metal Care on a 1950 Bentley Mark VI
During his visit to the collection, Joël generously demonstrated other products he uses from the LiquidGlass-Protec product line. The first one was the LiquidGlass-Protec CHROP. It is used to polish metals, rid them of any product buildup and stains, and it works to protect them from future dirt buildup by reducing surface adherence. We used it on a 1950 Bentley Mark VI and you can see the before and after shots below to judge the product’s performance for yourself! Joël made sure to mention that the LiquidGlass-Protec CHROP also helps to protect metals from dust buildup. The finished surface is slick and slippery making it harder for dust or other particles to stick to it. Joël explained that the same nano ceramic technology is used in the different LiquidGlass-Protect products whether it is to treat metal, paint, glass, plastic or even leather!
Wheel Care
The last issue we asked Joël’s advice on was personal to Vanessa. She drives a Range Rover and her mags keep getting dirty no matter how often she cleans them! And they are very difficult to clean too. Joël explained that this was a problem common to all Range Rovers, Jaguars and Mercedes. The combination of the metal dust caused by breaking and the finish of these particular mags make for a sticky, dirty mess.
He suggested using the LiquidGlass-Protec Wheel Cleaner RC to first clean her mags and make sure to remove potential adherences caused by previously used products. Then, he applied the LiquidGlass-Protec Double Skin Aktivator to help prevent the buildup of dirt and brake dust by reducing their adherence to the surface of the mag. He finished the demonstration by applying a rubber protector, the LiquidGlass-Protec ALLROUNDER Reneiger, on the tire. The video below shows the final result.
What Now?
To conclude, prevention is key. To take care of your collectible car, or your everyday car, applying the right quality product can make a world of difference. Vanessa and I were both sold on the products and services offered by Polyshine Innovation and stocked up on our favorites so that the car detailer who works on the cars of the Demers Car Collection could try them out too. If you live around Trois-Rivières, Quebec, and would like to purchase some products or go for a full nano ceramic treatment, contact Joël from Polyshine Innovation directly! They can also treat boats, campers, planes and much more. If you are a professional and would like to know more about LiquidGlass-Protec products to use them yourself, various training courses will be available in March 2024 on their brand new website.
As for us, don’t miss next week’s blog post where we introduce you to another car from the Demers Car Collection: The 1925 Pierce-Arrow.
